Gregory: a postscript

This is a postscript to my last post It was a hundred years ago today.

To recap: 1911 Census, Alfred Gregory, 39, bootmaker and dealer, born Bloxwich about 1872. Stanley Vernon Gregory (accountant in 1939), son, 6, born Brownhills. I had thought that an Alfred Gregory in Andrew’s Kindred might be related in some way.

This is the sort of thing that happens frequently to genealogists and family historians.

The Albert Gregory in Andrew’s Kindred was the son of Charles Albert Gregory, born Sheffield, about 1842. So, is there really a link?

I have not been able to get further back, but this appears to be a wild goose chase and I will let it rest.
